About the course:

This is a mind/body restorative + meditation program.

The process of turning the mind inwards:
 

Pratyahara - sense withdrawal (inner focus/mind training)

Dharana - concentration (developing one-pointedness)

Dhyana - meditation (uninterrupted flow of concentration)

 

The meditation time is built over the 4 weeks from 10 to 30 minutes.

Depth of meditational state is increased through practice hence students are encouraged to set apart some time for home practice each day to enhance and deepen their experience of meditation.

Each week the following practices will be offered:

 

  • Restorative yoga
    Supported asanas (postures) in preparation to sitting, to calm the mind and body.

  • Deep Breathing
    To further calm the mind and the body. To begin the process of observation. 
     

  • Deep relaxation
    A simple relaxation technique will be presented that can be used in any situation to calm your mind. In class we will use it to enter a meditative state.
     

  • Meditation
    We gradually practise and master the steps, which lead to a meditational state:

 

 

Monthly Restorative/Meditation Practice

Last Friday of each month from 6.00 to 7.30pm.


Dates: 30 April , 28 May, 25 June, 30 July 

 

Cost: $25 or use your yoga pass.

All welcome!

We start with restorative poses followed by breathing, deep relaxation and meditation.

Chairs are available if you cannot sit on the floor!
