Why Yoga?
The Multi Dimensional Benefits of Yoga
Yoga is beneficial on all levels; physical, physiological, mental, emotional and spiritual. It’s remedial and restorative, it is health giving and its fitness - all in one practice!
From my perspective and 35 years of practice, yoga has sustained my overall health (mental & physiological), my fitness and wellbeing in a most natural way, as well, it has supported my healthy lifestyle, keeping me on track!
Our School

Founded by Corinne Doret, Hills Yoga has been offering yoga, meditation and specialised classes to the Hills community since 1999.
Classes are suitable for all levels of practice, from beginners to experienced students. We recognise that we are all different hence we do not follow a one-size-fits-all teaching/practice approach. Alignment taught in class respects the individual unique needs - what works for one body may not work for another so students are encouraged to work at their own level and adjust their practice to their needs. Modifications for poses, individual focus and personal instruction is provided. Savasan (deep relaxation) is practised at end of class.

The studio is conveniently located in the heart of Castle Hill and is fully equipped.
Our teachers are highly skilled with years of teaching & personal practice.
Meet The Team

Corinne
I am the founder of Hills Yoga (1999) and the principal teacher. I have a background in Clinical Hypnosis & Counselling, Hypno-Cognitive & Behaviour Therapy and Childbirth Management. I retired from my private practice in 2001 to focus on yoga program development for childbirth, children, and for people with disabilities.

A yoga practitioner since 1992, I've had the opportunity to study with Iyengar teachers Geeta and Abhijata Iyengar, Pixie Lillas, Lois Steinberg, Stephanie Quirk, Mira Mehta and Gulnaaz Dashti. I've also trained in the Ashtanga method with Eileen Hall and Mark Robberds, and explored T.K.V Desikachar yoga with Leslie Kaminoff, and Paul Grilley. Before stepping onto the path of yoga, my interest in meditation led me through a diverse journey. I delved into the art of vipassana, explored the zen teachings of Ama Sami, practised Kriya yoga, chakras and the third eye meditations and engaged in spiritualism. I've also studied thai massage at Wat Pho School and stretch therapy with Kit Laughlin..

in 1999 I created PowerBirth® and presented it to midwives & childbirth educators in the private and public sector. In 2000 I developed a yoga program for people with disabilities and taught weekly classes to Warrah Post School Option and Hadpac's clients for 4 years at my Studio.

I bring to my teaching over 30 years of practical experience and knowledge I have acquired through the studies of macrobiotics, humanistic astrology, eastern philosophies, meditation, aromatherapy, and psychology. My approach to teaching is based on my own experience and self-exploration and reflects the inspiration and influence from my teachers.

I am a down to earth, supportive, intuitive and inspiring teacher, and bring to my class humour, discipline, challenge, fun and compassion, motivating my students to explore deeper into their minds and bodies. my teaching is hands on, adaptive, alignment focused and interactive with a strong emphasis on mind/body connection.
